The PENDV LOGO used in all of our online and print materials was designed by Todd Pendu. It is a stylized re-imagining of the symbol for the “Magnum Opus” of the Alchemist combined with a visual pun of uniting an inverted cross and triangle; it is also related to the Tarot card known as The Hanged-Man, or in French as “Le Pendu”. It has been used in various incarnations since 2005, when the Pendu brand was birthed. Learn more about the meaning of the symbol here.

REFINERY 29 – “When a magical power couple gets together — Frida and Diego, Burton and Taylor, Mick and Marianne — really awesome things can come out of it. In the case of New York City creatives Zana Bayne and Todd Pendu, their love match benefitted us in the form of a very awesome, limited-edition bracelet, combining Zana’s bondage leather business and Todd’s Pendu logo.” 12/06/12; – Read here…
NOISEY (VICE) – “It’s a record label (Pendu Sound Recordings), a publisher, a blog… Todd literally does whatever he wants, and he’s just now starting to get the credit he deserves. Last week, he invited me to his space to chat about dark magick, running a record label, and the power of Satan.” 11/02/12 – Read it here…
NEW YORK TIMES – “Back into the night. After a pit stop for some Cheerwine, the next stop was Saint Vitus, the heavy-metal-friendly bar in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, where Pendu Sound Recordings had organized a showcase of gothwave and dark, dark pop. You could count on one hand the number of people who weren’t wearing all black.” 10/19/12 – Read it here…
